About the History of Idaho Broadcasting Foundation

‍Legal Status The History of Idaho Broadcasting Foundation, Inc. is a Boise-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, incorporated in January 2004. As an independent, nonpartisan entity, we operate solely on donations and volunteers to ensure our preservation efforts remain free from external influence.

‍Our Core Mission We celebrate, honor, and preserve Idaho's radio and television broadcasting history—from KFAU's inaugural 1922 broadcast on Boise High School's campus to today's digital era. Key activities include: Collecting and archiving thousands of artifacts (e.g., consoles, photos, playlists). In digitizing content - audio, video, photos, graphics and in sharing that in this recently expanded website, we hope to make these collections accessible and engaging. Whether visitors are here for ideas, for education or just for fun, it's all here. (And someday in the original KFXD building near downtown Nampa.)
