Invites you to RSVP for our Next No-Host Luncheon

Friday June 29, 2018

11:30am-1:30pm at

Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill

415 East Parkcenter Blvd. Boise, Idaho 83706 (208) 429-0011

We’ll hear recordings of

Novelty 45 rpm Records

of the 1950’s & 1960’s

You’ll also get a written list

of the Top 100 Novelty Songs!

BYU Boy Missionary hit #17 on the KYME Top 40 in 1966!

Art Gregory hosts this fun & unusual program on Novelty

Records that were played on Idaho radio stations in the

1950’s and the 1960’s!  Some were local or regional hits,

such as Lynn Bryson’s “BYU Boy Missionary” which KFXD

would not play! We’ll hear select novelty songs from both

the 1950’s and 60’s including the top Novelty Song of both

decades - Sheb Wooly’s 1958 classic “Purple People Eater”

The #1 Novelty Song of the 1950s’s & 1960’s

We’ll also hear some “rare” novelty songs that made the

List like Senator Bobby’s “Wild Thing” and Stan Freburg’s

“That’s My Boy” and “Tele-Vee-Shun” both of which are

perhaps more relevant today than when they were recorded

in the early 1950’s! Everyone who attends will receive a free

list of the top 100 Novelty Songs from the 1950s & 1960s!

KYME played “Senator Bobby” in February of 1967

We’ll also have some KIDO, KYME, and KFXD Music Charts

that show some of these songs on the Boise Top-40 Charts!

Bring any old records or record charts you wish to share!
